Overview
The Night Agent is a 2023 action thriller television series created by Shawn Ryan for Netflix, based on the 2019 novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk. The series follows Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), an FBI agent who works the night shift in the White House basement, answering a phone that never rings. He is a "night agent," a low-level position that is a dead end. One night, the phone rings. He is contacted by Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan), a young woman whose aunt and uncle, who were spies, have been murdered. Peter is drawn into a conspiracy that goes to the highest levels of the government. The series is a fast-paced, suspenseful, and addictive thriller, with a focus on twists and turns. The first season was a massive success for Netflix, becoming one of its most-watched series. The series has been renewed for a second season.
