Overview

The Last of Us Season 2 is the second season of HBO's acclaimed post-apocalyptic drama, adapting the events of the video game The Last of Us Part II. The season is set five years after the events of Season 1. Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) are living in the thriving settlement of Jackson, Wyoming. Ellie is now 19 years old, and she has learned the truth about what Joel did at the Firefly hospital — he killed the doctors and lied to her, preventing the possibility of a cure. Their relationship is strained. The season introduces new characters: Dina (Isabela Merced), Ellie's love interest; Jesse (Young Mazino), their friend; and Abby (Kaitlyn Dever), a soldier from the Washington Liberation Front who has a personal vendetta against Joel. The season follows the devastating cycle of violence and revenge that consumes Ellie and Abby. The Last of Us Season 2 is a brutal, emotional, and controversial continuation of the story.
