American Gangster
Overview
Denzel Washington has never been cooler or more terrifying. He plays Frank Lucas, who built a Harlem heroin empire by smuggling product in the coffins of fallen soldiers — ruthless, brilliant, untouchable. Russell Crowe is the dogged cop closing in. Ridley Scott gives it crime-epic sweep, and the two leads circling each other is electric. The rare true-crime saga that earns its two-and-a-half hours.
