American History X
Overview
This one hurts on purpose. A reformed neo-Nazi skinhead tries to stop his younger brother from following him into hate, with flashbacks showing how his rage was built brick by brick. Edward Norton's performance is terrifying and heartbreaking in the same scene. It's confronting, raw, and contains one of the most disturbing sequences in modern film. Watch it when you're ready for something heavy, not on a fun movie night.
