Eileen
Overview
The title sounds gentle. The movie isn't. In 1960s Massachusetts, lonely Eileen drifts through her job at a boys' prison and a miserable home life — until a glamorous new counselor walks in and tilts her whole world. McKenzie and Hathaway spark off each other beautifully. What starts as a character study swerves into dark noir territory, and going in blind is half the pleasure. Cold, strange, and quietly gripping.
