Franklin
Overview
Michael Douglas dons the bifocals to play Benjamin Franklin as a wily 70-year-old diplomat charming, flattering, and outmaneuvering the French court to secure America's independence. It's a talky, candlelit chess match — spies, salons, and slow-burn intrigue rather than battlefield heroics. Douglas clearly relishes every scene. If slow historical maneuvering is your thing, this is a feast; thrill-seekers, beware.
