Gran Turismo
Overview
A kid who only races on a PlayStation gets a shot at a real cockpit. Yes, this actually happened. Jann Mardenborough's journey from gamer to GT driver is told with surprising sincerity, and Blomkamp stages the races with genuine white-knuckle intensity. The father-son stuff lands harder than expected. Skeptics welcome: even if you don't care about cars or games, the underdog engine runs strong. A crowd-pleaser, plain and simple.
