Interstellar
Overview
Strip away the physics lectures and this is really about a dad who leaves his kids to go save the world, knowing he'll miss their whole lives. The wormhole trips and giant-wave planets are spectacular, but the scene that breaks everyone is a father watching twenty years of video messages in an hour. Nolan's finest hour, and the Hans Zimmer organ score still rattles ribs. Fans of smart sci-fi will devour it; just keep tissues nearby.
