Jack Reacher
Overview
Tom Cruise playing a 6'5" drifter raised eyebrows, but he nails Reacher's quiet menace. When a sniper's accused killer asks for Reacher by name, our ex-military drifter starts pulling threads — and bodies. McQuarrie's direction is lean and mean; the bar fight is an all-timer. Lee Child purists grumbled about the height. Everyone else got a rock-solid thriller. The car chase alone justifies the ticket.
