Lady Bird
Overview
Greta Gerwig's debut is the rare coming-of-age film that gets mothers right. Saoirse Ronan is Lady Bird, a Sacramento teen desperate to escape to the East Coast, constantly at war with the mother who loves her fiercely and infuriatingly. It's funny, then suddenly it punches you in the heart. The airport scene broke me. If you've ever fought with your mom and loved her anyway, this is your movie.
