Napoleon
Overview
Ridley Scott does not do small, and neither did Napoleon. Joaquin Phoenix plays the emperor as a strange, awkward, oddly needy man — which is either brilliant or baffling depending on your mood. The battle scenes are massive and genuinely thrilling. The history? Let's just say don't write your term paper from this. Come for the spectacle, stay for one of the weirdest love stories ever put on screen.
