Nightmare Alley
Overview
Del Toro's gorgeous descent into the gutter. A carnival drifter learns to fake talking to the dead, then aims his con at the rich — who are worse monsters than any geek. Bradley Cooper has never been slimier. Lush, cruel, and that final line lands like a coffin lid. Noir fans, clear your evening — this one's a slow-burn stunner.
