Prisoners
Overview
Two little girls vanish on Thanksgiving, and the clock starts ticking. Jackman plays a father who decides the police aren't moving fast enough, while Gyllenhaal's twitchy detective works the case by the book — and Villeneuve makes you question both of them. Rain-soaked, grim, and morally queasy. The ending will spark arguments. It's heavy from start to finish, so go in prepared. One of the great American thrillers of the 2010s.
