The Ring
Overview
Seven days. That's how long you have after watching the tape — and yes, you'll be checking your phone nervously afterward. Gore Verbinski's remake took Japan's scariest urban legend and made it American-gothic: drowned girls, static-filled TVs, and imagery that crawls into your dreams. Naomi Watts sells every second of the dread. The rare remake that might be better than the original. Watch it with the lights on.
