The Boogeyman
Overview
The Boogeyman is a 2023 supernatural horror film directed by Rob Savage, based on the 1973 short story of the same name by Stephen King. The film stars Sophie Thatcher as Sadie Harper, a teenage girl who is grieving the death of her mother; Chris Messina as her father, Will, a therapist; and Vivien Lyra Blair as her younger sister, Sawyer. The family is visited by a patient of Will's, Lester Billings (David Dastmalchian), who claims that a monster killed his children. He disappears, and the monster, the Boogeyman, begins to haunt the Harper family. The film is a classic, old-fashioned horror film, relying on atmosphere, suspense, and jump scares.
