The Dark Knight
Overview
Gotham has never felt this close to collapse. Nolan shoots this like a crime epic that happens to have a cape in it: mob money drying up, a new DA with a white-knight smile, and Batman pushing his one rule to the edge. Then the Joker arrives — no origin, no motive, just a man who wants to watch the city's soul burn. Ledger's performance rewires what screen villains can be. The ferry sequence alone will leave your hands shaking.
