The Notebook
Overview
Yes, it's the notebook movie. Yes, you'll cry anyway. A poor mill worker and a rich girl fall in love one summer in the 1940s, and the story is told through an old man reading to a woman with fading memory. Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams fight, spark, and break your heart in equal measure. It's sentimental, unapologetically so — and that's exactly why it works. Keep tissues within arm's reach.
