Top Gun
Overview
Yes, it's an 80s propaganda-tinged recruitment ad with volleyball montages — and yes, it's still an absolute blast. Tom Cruise plays Maverick, a hotshot fighter pilot who has to learn that flying solo only gets you so far. The aerial photography was groundbreaking for its time and honestly still holds up. Cheesy? Completely. Fun? Enormously. Watch it before the sequel so the nostalgia hits properly.
