Overview
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is a 2023 science fiction action film directed by Steven Caple Jr., the seventh installment in the Transformers film series. The film is set in 1994, in New York City and Peru. The film follows Noah Diaz (Anthony Ramos), a former military electronics expert, and Elena Wallace (Dominique Fishback), an artifact researcher, as they become caught in the middle of a conflict between the Autobots, the Maximals, and the Terrorcons. The Maximals are a group of animal-themed Transformers who have been hiding on Earth for centuries. The Terrorcons are a group of villainous Transformers led by Scourge (voiced by Peter Dinklage), who is trying to find the Transwarp Key, a device that can open a portal to anywhere in the universe. The film features new Transformers, including Optimus Primal (voiced by Ron Perlman), a gorilla-like Maximal; Airazor (voiced by Michelle Yeoh), a falcon-like Maximal; and Battletrap, a brutal Terrorcon. The film is a fun, action-packed adventure, with impressive visual effects and a nostalgic 1990s soundtrack. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was a critical and commercial success, earning over $439 million worldwide.
