Uncut Gems
Overview
Adam Sandler's Howard Ratner is a Manhattan jeweler sprinting from one terrible decision to the next — debts, bets, mistresses, a rare opal that might save him or ruin him. The Safdie brothers shoot it like a panic attack: claustrophobic, loud, relentless. You'll want to scream at him to stop. The score throbs, the city presses in, and the ending is genuinely shocking. Exhausting in the way great thrillers should be.
