Pennyworth Season 1
Overview
Young Alfred Pennyworth, SAS badass, navigating a fascist-tinged 1960s London — it's a wild premise that shouldn't work as well as it does. Jack Bannon gives Alfred charm and menace in equal measure, and Heller's alternate-history England is stylish, pulpy fun. The spy-action plotting is solid even if you couldn't care less about Batman. A pleasant surprise for skeptics. Way better than its elevator pitch suggests.
