A Clockwork Orange
Overview
Kubrick dared you to look away. Alex DeLarge — all bowler hat, Beethoven, and ultraviolence — rampages through a sterile future until the state decides to 'cure' him, and the cure might be worse than the disease. McDowell is magnetic and monstrous in equal measure. It's confrontational by design, and it rewired cinema's idea of what a film could get away with. Research the content warnings first, then wrestle with it for years.
