Causeway
Overview
Jennifer Lawrence gives her quietest, best performance as a soldier recovering from a brain injury in New Orleans. No big speeches, no cathartic montage — just two damaged people (Brian Tyree Henry is equally great) slowly learning to be around each other. Lila Neugebauer directs with rare patience. Small, honest, and deeply moving. The anti-war-movie war movie. Let it wash over you.
