The Color Purple
Overview
Alice Walker's classic returns as a full-blown musical, and the songs soar. Celie's journey through hardship toward self-worth gets the big-screen treatment it deserves, with powerhouse performances throughout. It's emotional in the best way — expect happy tears by the end. A beautiful adaptation honoring both the novel and the stage show. Fantasia Barrino is a revelation. The musical numbers will lift you out of your seat.
