Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Overview
Imagine wiping your ex from your memory completely. Joel does exactly that after Clementine wipes him first — then, mid-procedure, realizes he wants to keep her. Kaufman and Gondry turn a breakup into a surreal chase through dissolving memories. Carrey's best dramatic performance, Winslet electric. Sad, strange, romantic, and weirdly hopeful. The rare sci-fi love story that earns every tear.
