The Half of It
Overview
Shy, brilliant Ellie writes love letters for a jock to win over the girl Ellie secretly loves herself. Alice Wu spins this Cyrano setup into something quieter and wiser: a story about friendship, immigrant-family pressure, and learning to want things for yourself. It's tender without being precious. Teen-romance fans tired of glossy clichés will find this one stays with them. The train-station confession is a small masterpiece.
