Nosferatu
Overview
Eggers remade the 1922 vampire film as a fog-drenched nightmare about desire and rot. Bill Skarsgård disappears under prosthetics into something genuinely inhuman, and Lily-Rose Depp gives the film its tortured soul. Shot in sickly grays and candlelight, it looks like a nightmare you can't wake from. This is horror as atmosphere — slow, sickly, beautiful. If you want jump scares, look elsewhere; if you want dread, come in.
