The Brutalist
Overview
Concrete, exile, and the price of genius. A Hungarian architect survives the camps and rebuilds his life in postwar America, where a mercurial patron offers him everything — with strings made of barbed wire. Shot in VistaVision, it looks like an unearthed classic. Adrien Brody gives the performance of his career. Demanding and prickly, it refuses to flatter its audience. The rare epic that trusts concrete more than sentiment.
