The Hurt Locker
Overview
Sergeant James doesn't defuse bombs. He flirts with them. In 2004 Baghdad, Bigelow's war thriller follows a bomb disposal expert addicted to the blast radius, and films every wire-cut like a horror sequence. Renner is electric as a man who only feels alive at the edge. Tense, exhausting, and deservedly an Oscar winner. You'll forget to breathe.
