Westworld
Overview
Westworld sells wealthy tourists the Wild West - until the attractions start remembering. Nolan and Joy's HBO puzzle-box begins as sci-fi spectacle and deepens into a thorny meditation on consciousness, memory, and free will. The hosts' slow awakening is genuinely unsettling. Season one rewards close watching and theorizing. Ambitious television that trusts its audience to keep up.
