Silo Season 1
Overview
Silo is a 2023 dystopian science fiction television series created by Graham Yost for Apple TV+, based on the Wool series of novels by Hugh Howey. The first season is set in a future where humanity lives in a giant, underground silo, 144 stories deep. The silo is a self-contained ecosystem, with its own farms, power plant, and judicial system. No one knows why the silo was built, or what happened to the outside world. The only view of the outside is through a large screen on the top floor, which shows a desolate, toxic wasteland. The first season follows Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson), an engineer who works in the silo's mechanical department. She is called to the top floor to investigate the death of a sheriff. She discovers that the sheriff was investigating a conspiracy: the silo's founders are hiding a terrible secret about the outside world. The first season is a slow-burn, atmospheric, and suspenseful thriller. It was a critical and commercial success. The show is a must-see for fans of dystopian science fiction and for anyone who loves a good, mystery. A second season is in production.
