Good Omens Season 2
Overview
Good Omens is a 2019 fantasy comedy television series created by Neil Gaiman for Amazon Prime Video, based on the 1990 novel of the same name by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. The series follows an angel, Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), and a demon, Crowley (David Tennant), who have been living on Earth since the beginning of time. They have grown fond of humanity and do not want the Apocalypse to happen. The first season follows their attempts to prevent the Antichrist from destroying the world. The second season, released in 2023, follows Aziraphale and Crowley as they try to solve the mystery of a missing archangel, Gabriel (Jon Hamm), who has appeared at Aziraphale's bookshop with no memory of who he is. The second season is a quieter, more character-driven story, focusing on the relationship between Aziraphale and Crowley. It explores their past, from the Garden of Eden to the present day, and it shows the depth of their 6,000-year friendship. The season ends with a heartbreaking cliffhanger: Aziraphale is offered the position of Supreme Archangel of Heaven, and he accepts, leaving Crowley devastated. Crowley tells Aziraphale that he loves him, and they part ways. The series has been praised for its performances, its wit, and its faithful adaptation of the source material. A third and final season has been announced.
