The Wire Season 1
Overview
A Baltimore wiretap case told from both sides of the law — cops and corners with equal depth. McNulty and Bunk's banter lightens the heaviness just right. David Simon's masterpiece starts here, and it's dense: pay attention and you'll be rewarded. 'All the pieces matter' isn't just a quote, it's a warning. Television doesn't get more essential than this.
